Hello - I am Kaley Dvorak, you may know my face from my role as one of your Supervisors of the Checklist for Brentwood for the last 6 years. Serving in that role has allowed me to see the inner workings of a community, and motivated me to run to serve as your State Representative, because I believe in public service as a force for good in a community. There is a lot happening in New Hampshire right now which appears short-sighted, lacking the meaningful work to tackle big problems. The legislation being enacted in Concord right now does not make the everyday lives of people in Brentwood, Danville and Fremont better, it makes lives harder & more expensive.
Our local towns should not have to keep increasing property taxes to fund our public schools. We need to fix the state's broken education funding model. The revenue generated by the state should not only come from property owners. We need to push back on the status quo and solve this problem holistically to redefine our funding model, so we can better support our community to address rising costs of energy, healthcare, and housing.
I believe it is important to find common-ground to balance the needs of our community, and associated costs. My approach to life is that all problems can be solved, however some take a little bit longer because they require hard work. I am willing to show up, and do the work. The solutions are not one size fits all, but incremental legislation which allows the people who live here to stay here, work here and enjoy their lives here.
By day, I am a data analyst and manager of a business analytics group. In this role I am regularly asked to solve a problem in a subject of which I have some understanding, but may not be an expert. To solve the problem, I have to ask questions, listen, and validate what I heard, to make sure any new data process that we design will work for everyone. If you elect me as your State Representative, I will use the same process to serve our community. I would listen to you - my constituents, the other members of the House, and experts in the space to make the best informed decision which best balances the needs of the community.
l humbly ask for your vote on November 3rd.
Thank you,
Kaley Dvorak
